Dr. Heyer received his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Michigan. He completed his residency and fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. While in San Francisco he served as chief resident of San Francisco General Hospital. Dr. Heyer's research as a fellow included the treatment of patients with myeloma and lymphoma.
Dr. Heyer moved to Northern Virginia with his family and founded the practice in 1991. He cares for both hematology and oncology patients in the Reston office. Dr. Heyer is chairman of the Reston Hospital Cancer Committee and is a clinical faculty member of Georgetown University.
Dr. Heyer enjoys playing golf with his two sons and watching their sports activities.
